I think I was too distracted by the music, which sounded soooo similar to TNBC but just didn't have the same zing. But the movie was cute. What is your favorite HBC movie? She's been in a lot of good ones!
Currently it's a tie between Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland but I'm looking forward to her turn as The Queen Mother in The King's Speech. And then of course there is Harry Potter. I think she's fab and wish that I could afford to wear Vivienne Westwood like she does.
I haven't seen either of your favorites yet, though they're both in my netflix queue. I think my favorite of hers was The Wings of the Dove, though (from what I remember, anyway) she's kind of more normal in that one. I also really liked Fight Club, but when I think of that movie I tend to think of Brad Pitt and Edward Norton first.
Oooh, you mean you haven't watched Fight Club ever ever? You definitely need to dig that out. I mean, do you know about Fight Club? Well, the first rule of Fight Club is you don't talk about Fight Club. So just go watch it.
I don't intend to give complete reviews of the movies I watch. Movie reviews are all over the Internet and I see no reason to add to those numbers. I plan to use this forum mainly to express what stands out to me about the movies that I watch... even if what stands out is that nothing stands out. Not only that, but I don't often have that much to say about movies, especially because I am an escapist movie-watcher who believes the main purpose of a movie is entertainment. I am certainly not looking for inanity in the movies I watch, but if I am looking for education or thought-provoking material, I turn to literature rather than cinema. But I am a netflix subscriber. When I first signed up I figured once I watched the 100 or so movies I had lined up in my queue, I would cancel my subscription. Here it is five years later and I've never whittled my queue down below 80 movies because I keep adding to the list. I have a feeling I may never cancel my netflix subscription.
Yes, but still pretty good, I thought. But then I have a whole Helena Bonham-Carter thing going.....
